About The ReFarmery’s CSA

“What is a CSA?”

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture.

Call it a food box, a farm bag, a produce membership—our CSA members invest in their local farm every season and receive a weekly share of the freshest, healthiest, most flavorful, and most ethical foods available to our community.

“What is in The ReFarmery’s CSA?”

Each share is filled with a seasonal variety as diverse as possible. We seek out novelty and heirloom varieties of familiar foods whenever possible. Past seasons have included:

“What else should I know?”

Unused Shares, Vacation, etc.

If a member cannot use a week’s share, we invite all members to send any family member, friend, neighbor or co-worker to use their share. If a member cannot give away the week’s share, we can help facilitate the donation of the food to prevent waste. The ReFarmery will happily deliver an unused CSA share to Elverta/Rio Linda Food Closet on your behalf.

A note on refunds:

In the CSA farm model membership funds are immediately reinvested in the farm in the form of supplies, feed, labor and utilities needed at the beginning of the season. Farms are therefore unable to offer refunds for shares. However, our members are friends and family and if you find yourself struggling, please contact us. We are all in this together and we want to help however we can.

Feeding the Hungry in Sacramento County:

By some estimates more than 240,000 people live on the brink of hunger in our county. To help combat food insecurity in our community, The ReFarmery donates to Rio Linda/Elverta Food Closet and asks you to do the same if you are able. Please help, too many of our neighbors do not have enough to eat.
